To get selected for the post of Forest Guard in Uttarakhand, candidates will have to go through a rigorous selection process, which includes a written examination as well as Physical Eligibility Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). It is important for the candidates to fulfill the physical measurements set by the commission as this post demands physically and mentally fit candidates.

The selection process for Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission Forest Guard Post can be divided into two sections:

1. Physical Eligibility Test: In this test, the applicant’s ability will be checked through short jump, high jump, shot put, and running with weight. Based on the candidates’ performance in the Physical Ability Test, the applicants will be shortlisted for the written test. The required eligibility for the Physical Ability Test is as follows:

• Male candidates must be able to run 25 km in 4 hours, while female candidates must be able to run 14 km in 4 hours.
• Male candidates must be able to do a high jump of 1.15 meters, while female candidates must be able to do a high jump of 0.90 meters.
• Male candidates must be able to do a long jump of 4.00 meters, while female candidates must be able to do a long jump of 2.00 meters.
• Male candidates must be able to throw a shot put weighing 7.275 kg for a minimum distance of 5 meters, while female candidates must be able to throw a shot put weighing 4 kg for a minimum distance of 3.50 meters.

2. Written Test: Candidates who clear the Physical Eligibility Test will be called for the written test. The written test will consist of multiple-choice questions and will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. Candidates must score a minimum of 45 marks to qualify for the next round of the selection process.
